Oily Problems…not of the BP kind.

Besides exercise, eating healthy is the other MUST DO if you want to fully conquer your fitness goals. Right? I thought I was being all healthy-like when I swapped oil for butter years ago.  But even the EVOG (extra virgin olive oil) still packs on extra calories & fat, even if it is the healthier type. I don’t want to exclusively steam my veggies or roast meats in water in order to stay fit. So I did some research and found this tip:

Bring on the broth!

Stir-fying your veggies with broth can cut 959 calories! Try chicken, beef, or vegetable stock to give your veggies extra flavor without the unnecessary extra fat. Interesting fact: broth weighs in at about 41 calories per half-cup while most oils have nearly 1,000 calories per half-cup!

Great trick right? TRY IT!

don’t forget thought hat broth – unless you make it from scratch and know exactly what’s in it – is full of salt

Why not just dry fry your stir fry? enough water comes out of veg to make it work and the taste is lovely (non-stick pan essential)

@Lizsara, Yes, definitely a good point. I normally stick to just water but sometimes I want that extra flavor and found this to be a good substitute—used sparingly of course.
