G’s up, Ho’s down. And all that good stuff.

Work out music.

We all know it’s a must.

We have all showed up at the gym, dug around in our bag, found out we forgot our iPod, and promptly turned around and left.

We all have our list.

My sister listens to Backstreet Boys and Disco. My best friend listens to techno. My husband doesn’t work out {bastard}.

I absolutely tolerate no less than gangsta rap. G’s up, Ho’s down. And all that good stuff.

I purposefully download the “explicit” version. I NEED the swear words. I NEED the thundering, driving beat. I NEED more than just a fast pace.

With that being said, my two favorite running songs right now are:

“Dead and Gone” T.I. and Justin Timberlake
“Lose Yourself” Eminem {ummm, hello? “Success is my only motherfucking option”}

But I am always looking for good new tunes {preferably with swear words}. And I have 20 free itunes downloads that I got at the lilith fair {I know, how does she go from lilith fair to gangsta rap? Don’t judge me.}

Me at the Lilith Fair. Is there anything NOT gangsta about this?

So, what is YOUR favorite work out song? Discuss. Tell me what to download.

Hi there, stumbled across your blog recently and finally decided to comment. ;-)

I’m with you – workout music has to have a heavy, driving beat and take-no-prisoners lyrics. Otherwise, no motivation whatsoever!

A few of my favorites for running:

Shake That Ass (Eminem feat. Nate Dogg)
Monster (Skillet)
Let It Rock (Kevin Rudolf)

If I had my iPod on me I’d share more. Good luck! :)

I’m on a Boat by the Lonely Island. Ok, it’s ridiculous (SNL sketch, what?), but it’s also a lot of fun. :p

“Work” by Ciara and Missy Elliot always makes me want to push that bit harder.

“Sexy Bitch” by David Guetta feat. Akon. Because, that’s why I’m sweating to death, right? Oh, and I agree with Hope’s choice too! The Lonely Island is awesome, with their swim trunks and their flippy-floppies.

I’m super loving (and don’t judge!! it’s my main workout song right now!) ‘Bionic’ by Christina Aguilera. There’s just something about it that makes me push myself harder. I love the dance-like beat :)

Here’s somem of what I have on my 5K training playlist. I am constantly adding to it for my half marathon training after I reach a 5k. Kicks my butt fo’sho.

How Low -Ludacris
OMG -Usher
Teeth -Lady Gaga
Forever -Drake
Break Your Heart -Taio Cruz
Imma Be -BEP
On to the Next One -Jay Z
I Know You Want Me, and The Anthem -Pitbull
If Rap Gets Jealous -K’naan
Shimmy Shimmy Ya -ODB
Right Round -Flo Rida
Swing -Savage and Soulja Boy

And while this isn’t rap or hip hop, If You Want Blood by AC/DC is soo great for 6MPH + (I think I once did the whole song at 7.5MPH on the treadmill and nearly died, but it was great!)

I definitely have a fair amount of rap and hiphop on my iPod for workout sessions — all labeled under “Dance Party” for some reason. I wish I could name specifics right now, but I’m at a loss. I know there’s some “Peaches and Cream” on there and lots of Ludacris.
