{First of all, I just want to say one big, fat, huge THANK YOU to all of you who are a part of this community and have made it what it is, via contributing, tweeting, commenting, or supporting each other in a variety of Awesome Sauce ways. I’m so excited to have it here- I know it’s already made a difference for me, as far as motivation and feeling like I have a network of people rooting for me, and vice versa. This place is already more than I ever dared to hope it could be when I had a crazy idea a couple weeks ago.
Again… thank you. All of you.}
Phew. That said, I have something much more important on my mind right now.
(I keed. Sorta.)
You see, I have a wedding on April 25th. And this isn’t just any wedding… it’s my first BESTIE’S wedding, which means I will be IN IT, which means I will be oggled by all of the guests during the ceremony, which means I will be in her wedding pictures for the rest of our lives, which means…
There is A Dress.
A Dress that is lovely, a gorgeous color, and so fun!
But.
It is also A Dress that, when I tried it on two weeks ago, could only be zipped over my bazongas if I emptied my chest cavity of every last ounce of oxygen.
I tried it on again this weekend, and thanks to the first 30 days of p90x and a devastating lack of cheeseburgers from my life, it now… “fits.”
And you all know what I mean when I say, “it fits,” right? Like, sure, I can get in it. But I am not ROCKING it, amigos.
I have three weeks left, as I write this. Three weeks in which to lose a coupla pounds in the boobage area and work towards my Michelle Obama arms, so that I don’t just *fit* in The Dress.
I want to be ROCKING The Dress.
Now:
And “After” photos to come…
I can do this. Little goals, baby steps, right?
For the sake of the girls, I have to. It’s going to be a looooooong reception if they can’t breathe…

Well first of all, I think you look GREAT. The dress is super cute! No matter what you will look fantastic in that dress minus 2 lbs or not!

@Michelle,
Thanks love. I would LOVE to be able to breathe TOO, but I don’t want to be greedy.

That dress is AWESOME. Love the color. And, um, you already look really good in it. So anything you do between now and the wedding will just be bonus to an already banging look.
Now, you know this is coming…but…seriously? Go to a hot yoga class. Talk about a quick way to drop a pound or two of pure water weight.

@Just A Girl,
FAKE AND BAKE, woman! Don’t call me out!
I agree with everyone else. You look fab!
Can you get some good foundation undergarments? Although that might be counterproductive… my best shapewear makes the girls stand out more than usual. :p
I also have a dress that I need to wear in a wedding that is rather difficult to zip at the moment. And the trickiest place is right in the boobular region. I’m lucky that my wedding isn’t until September. I’m hoping that y’all can help me get to the point where it zips easily.

Really, the breathing thing is second to wanting Michelle Obama arms.
Priorities…
[Reply]
Lilu, seriously–you look beautiful. I could not imagine how the dress could fit you more, it looks like it was molded just for you.
But I am rooting for you, because I definitely about loosing the boobage….I have so many nice shirts and dresses that I can’t wear because my chest is just too big. That will go down hopefully as I lose this weight.
And if it doesn’t, its surgery time.

totally late on this but the dress looks FAB on you both–seriously LiLu, looks great! Kbo, i know urs looks amazing, it did 3 weeks ago! and omg i am freaking out!! i had an actual nightmare last night that my centerpieces and uplighting were ALL wrong and S wore his old shoes bc his new ones hurt his feet. Dangit, i told him to try his shoes on!! (which he does refuse to do). I was clearly not enjoying my wedding in the dream and that really is my biggest fear–that i won’t be able to put any mishaps aside and just be happy. 18 days! love u gals!

If you could manage to just be totally stressed out for the next three weeks, I promise you’ll lose some inches around the boobage.

At least your girl did you right by selecting that beautiful dress! And you can do it! I know you can! You will be smoking in 3 weeks! Also, I now understand where you are coming from when you say you want to lose it in the bazookas area. I never knew before since I had “petite” bazookas but now. Oh man. Now they are out of control. And not in a good way either.

You already look fantastic in that dress – the colour is perfect for you. I have the boobage problem too….damn them. Getting a great fitting bustier does help out with that a bit though, if you can find one.

I just want to say that, yes, you already look fantastic in The Dress, but, to be preachy: It shouldn’t matter how you look, but how you FEEL. Clothing just covers stuff up anyway. If you feel good about yourself without the dress, without taking that into account, then you win, and you’ll rock anything.
If that totally made any sense at all.

Super cute dress. Love the colors! You do look fantastic, but I totally understand the boobage thing. My chest is the first place the extra poundage goes when I gain weight, and I’m normally a 36C when I’m in good shape.

I’m all for the comfort factor, as well. I’ve been there and done that (I was young and stupid: Having bought the dress in January, I just assumed it would magically still fit in late April. Um, not so much) and do not wish that on you. Or anyone.

Ummm, did I tell you about when I bought a bridesmaid dress for my friends’ wedding last fall in a size smaller than what I wear? It, too, “fit,” but much less than yours seems to – my mom actually tried saran wrapping me. It only fit when I put it om after first waking up in the morning… and not unzipping it until the reception ended at 9pm that night.
Good luck, my dear. It’ll be a long day if you can’t breathe out!

Remember the wedding I was talking about on the post where I was bitching about the dress fiasco? Its also on the 25th. I’m starting to get a little freaked about how similiar our lives are…. hmmm…. but anyway, I have DD’s that do not change with weight gain/loss, so be happy that at least yours are able to shrink! (And I also love my dress, and yes it fits, but in order to be perfectly comfortable all night, I probably need to shed at least 5 pounds.)

You’re making progress! It looks really nice already, but I know what you mean by rocking it. The last time I lost weight (that’s depressing to say), I had a pair of jeans I was working to fit into. Second, I know JUST what you mean. Earlier today I was saying how right now, in the right clothes, I feel fine. Even my arms look okay. But then, I put on a sports bra and tank top to go to yoga and there’s just that little bit of arm pit fat that, well, IRRITATES THE CRAP OUT OF ME. So, um, arms? Yes, lets!
